I write Regency romance for readers who love wit, yearning, family drama, and happily-ever-afters.
My novels began with a simple question: what if Shakespeare's stories were given a second chance in the Regency era?
The Regency Bard Series reimagines Shakespeare's plays as historical romances, transporting his characters from forests, courts, and battlefields into ballrooms, country estates, industrial cities, and occasionally the sunlit streets of Italy. While I borrow the bones of Shakespeare's stories, I am not afraid to challenge them. Some of his heroes need redeeming, some of his heroines deserve greater freedom, and more than a few of his endings benefit from a little intervention.
My ambition is to retell all of Shakespeare's plays, one novel at a time, preserving the wit, humour, and emotional truth that have captivated readers for centuries while giving his characters the happily-ever-afters I believe they have earned.
When I am not arguing with a playwright who has been dead for four hundred years, I can usually be found researching Regency history, plotting my next adaptation, or finding new ways to cause trouble for perfectly respectable ladies and gentlemen.
